SHL returning cores vs coaching changes
Is it the coach’s name that moves the table — or the returning core?
Across 52 SHL team-seasons (2021/22–2024/25), returning-core share correlated with points% (r = 0.32). Mean age did not (r = −0.05). Coaching keep-vs-change barely moved Δ points%. The club’s level mostly stays.
How to read it
Plot returning-core share against points%. Sticky cores (≥70% returning) sit higher; age is almost flat. Coach keep vs change is a small wobble around the same club level.
